The Clinical Engineering function is carried out by the Clinical Engineering Department (director Ing. Giulia Falasca). Performs Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and business decision support functions in the field of equipment and technologies, working in close connection with the departments, the Heritage Service and Technical Activities and the Healthcare Management.

The Clinical Engineering function is responsible for:

• supporting, in the budgeting process, the decisions concerning the acquisition of technologies, through the utilization of the Technology Assessment method;
• supporting the purchase procedures and the quality control on the devices using the Supply Chain Manager as a reference point for procurement procedures of goods and services within institutional processes, Acting as an interface with corporate and unified offices
• providing technical guidelines to the Service for Patrimony and Technical Activities concerning the maintenance of healthcare and biomedical devices;
• monitoring the maintenance activities, also with the aim to prevent risks.

As regards the organization of activities and controls on equipment works in close collaboration with the Health Department.
