What is HTO-Planner?
Medial compartment knee osteoarthritis (MCOA) represents a common condition in physically active patients after the age of 30. The treatment of younger patients remains challenging and high tibial osteotomy (HTO) would represent the ideal option, since it aims to unload the degenerated compartment, reduce pain, slow-down OA progression by re-aligning the limb and preserving the integrity of the knee bones.

To optimize the clinical outcomes, the first step is an accurate and personalized preoperative planning.
Software overview
HTO Planner here presented is the first release (2D) of an innovative software that supports a quantitative, accurate and customised planning of High Tibial Osteotomy.
Main features include:
- Accurate identification of (i) hip/knee/ankle joint centres, (ii) mechanical femoral/tibial axes, (iii) anatomical femoral/tibial axes, (iv) relevant anatomical angles
- Interactive planning of the osteotomy
- Visual feedback of the planned correction
